Warwickshire is quite literally the home of film – the British Film Institute’s National Film Archive is housed in the South of the county, cementing its position as a county establishing a media legacy.
Since the birth of William Shakespeare, Warwickshire has been at the heart of great story‑telling. Film Warwickshire’s role is to encourage film , TV and multi-media (immersive/experiential)producers to emulate the success of the Royal Shakespeare Company on stage and deliver exciting projects by shooting on location in this most diverse and inspiring county.
Warwickshire borders the counties of Gloucestershire, Staffordshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Leicestershire and the unitary authorities of Birmingham, Solihull and Coventry. The five districts of North Warwickshire, Nuneaton & Bedworth, Rugby, Warwick and Stratford-on-Avon, form the area covered by Warwickshire County Council. South Warwickshire is just 65 miles from Pinewood Studios and around 80 mins drive straight up the M40 motorway which provides convenient access to many of the county’s most important locations.
